An automatic timer provides a known 3.00 s interval signalled either by lights or quiet tones. Students also time it by hand. Available equipment and procedure options: Use the automatic signal generator and handheld stopwatches; randomise the order of conditions for each consenting student. Design an investigation of how the type of start and stop signal affects manual recorded time minus the automatic 3.00 s interval. Include a reasoned hypothesis, an appropriate range, controls, repeat measurements, a results table or graph, and one specific limitation and safety measure. Do not invent experimental results.
