Refunds & Cancellation

01The free 3-day trial

A Student or Parent account can start one 72-hour full-access trial. It requires no card and never becomes a subscription automatically, so there is no trial charge to cancel or refund.

When the 72 hours end, paid content pauses. Continuing is a separate, deliberate choice to begin the $10 per month membership through Stripe. The cancellation and 14-day first-payment refund terms below apply only after that paid checkout is completed.

02What you pay

GioPhysics runs on a single monthly membership. The price is in US dollars and is charged once a month by Stripe until you cancel.

• Membership — $10 a month. Every lesson subsection, every interactive lab and game, every PDF guide and every problem studio across all twenty-nine physics modules.
• Schools and departments are licensed separately and are not billed through this page — see the school licences.

Earlier tiers — Self-Study, Guided and Private — are no longer sold. If you subscribed to one of them it continues on the price you agreed until you cancel it, and everything below applies to it unchanged.

There is no joining fee, no minimum term and no annual contract. Card numbers are entered on Stripe’s own pages and never reach GioPhysics. You can also look around before paying anything: the first lesson of every subject, and every simulation and interactive lab, are free and need no account.

03How to cancel

Two ways, and both take under a minute.

• Sign in, open your account area, and use Manage billing / cancel. That opens the billing page for your subscription, where cancelling is one click. This is the route for anyone who subscribed through the site; if your membership was set up by hand — a school licence, or an arrangement made directly with me — there is no card on file and the second route below is the one to use.
• Or email [email protected] with your username and ask. Saying “please cancel” is enough.

You never have to phone anyone, sit through a retention offer, or explain your reasons. There is no cancellation form, no notice period and nobody to get past.

04What happens when you cancel

Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not cut you off today.

• Nothing further is charged from that moment on.
• Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
• There is no cancellation fee and no penalty for leaving early.
• Your progress, solved questions and exam records stay in your account, so coming back later picks up where you left off.

Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting your account. If you want the account and everything in it removed as well, delete it from the account area, or email and say so.

05If you are on an older plan

Self-Study, Guided and Private are no longer sold, but nothing is switched off underneath you. An existing subscription keeps running at the price you agreed, and everything on this page applies to it in the same way.

If you would rather move onto the current membership, email and ask — it is a cancellation and a fresh subscription rather than an automatic swap, and your progress is untouched either way.

06The first 14 days: a full refund

If you pay for a plan for the first time and it turns out not to suit you, you can have that payment back in full. Email within 14 days of the first payment and ask.

• One email is all it takes. You do not have to give a reason, fill in a form, or justify the decision.
• Nobody checks how much you used. Working through half the course and deciding it is not for you is still a refund.
• The money goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe.
• The subscription is cancelled at the same time, so there is no second charge to chase.

Include the username on the account so the payment can be matched to it.

07After the first 14 days

Once those 14 days have passed, and on every later renewal, part-months are not refunded. Cancel halfway through a month and that month stays paid — you keep full access until it ends.

What that leaves you exposed to is one month, never more. Cancel the day after a renewal and you have bought one more month of physics, not a year of it.

08Sessions booked before tutoring ended

One-to-one tutoring and small-group sessions are no longer offered. If you hold sessions that were paid for and not yet delivered, they are still owed to you: email [email protected] and they will either be scheduled or refunded, whichever you prefer.

While those remaining sessions run, the terms they were sold under still apply: move or cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice and the hour is rebooked at no cost; a session missed without that notice counts as delivered, because the time could not be given to anyone else; and if I have to move one, you get the hour back.

09If a payment fails, or a charge looks wrong

Cards expire and banks decline things. If a renewal does not go through, the subscription simply does not renew — open the billing page from your account area to update the card and carry on where you were.

If a charge looks wrong, email before raising a dispute with your bank. A duplicate charge, or a charge taken after you cancelled, is a mistake rather than a refund request: it is refunded in full, and the 14-day window has nothing to do with it.

10School licences are billed differently

Schools do not use the monthly card plan. School licences run for 12 months and are paid annually by invoice.

• The published annual licence fees are US$350 for Classroom, US$900 for Department, and US$1,800 for Whole School. The written quote confirms the selected licence, start date, and any tax that is legally required before the school approves it.
• You are invoiced, and purchase orders are accepted. No card is stored and nothing renews on a card.
• An invoiced licence does not renew automatically. GioPhysics sends a renewal quote before the end date, and renewal happens only after written approval or a new purchase order.
• The 14-day refund above covers the monthly plans. For a licence, the terms written into the quote are the ones that apply.

Email for a quote and you will get one in writing, with the numbers your finance office needs.
