Question8 marks
A temperature logger gives these (time in min, temperature in °C) pairs: (0, 24), (2, 32), (4, 40), (6, 36), (8, 33). The heater was switched off at 4 min. Calculate the signed mean temperature-change rates over 0–2 min and 6–8 min. Test the claim that temperature changed at a constant rate throughout. Explain what the record can and cannot reveal about energy transfer, and propose one follow-up measurement.

What a complete response should do
Identify the useful evidence, process it with units, and make only the conclusion the data supports.
Split the problem into linked stages and state why each relationship applies.

Recorded sample temperature
Measured temperature at each stated time; straight segments connect observations only.
