A video claims magnets keep a wheel accelerating forever while powering a lamp. Identify two physics checks and one evidence check that should be made before accepting it.

Question

Accepted Answer

Track energy input and output including hidden sources and losses, test whether speed or power persists, and seek continuous unedited measurements or independent replication. Energy conservation requires an input equal to useful output plus losses. Magnets can exert forces but do not provide unlimited cyclic energy. Look for batteries, off-camera drive, edits and falling speed under load. Prefer calibrated long-duration data and independent repetition over a short demonstration.
