The physics behind the game

Change the moment of inertia of an isolated rotating rig while conserving angular momentum, and distinguish that conservation from kinetic-energy conservation.

I = Iₕᵤᵦ + 2mr²; Iᵢωᵢ = I𝒻ω𝒻

Model assumptions. Two equal point-mass pods move symmetrically on a rigid hub. External torque is zero. Motors move the pods and can change rotational kinetic energy; angular momentum remains constant.
