A past paper is most useful as evidence about your thinking. Attempt it under clear conditions, mark it with the official materials you are allowed to use, classify the reason for every lost mark, repair the underlying model, and then test the repair on a fresh question.

Turn one score into a targeted next study session.

Begin with a defined purpose. A full timed paper tests pacing and endurance; a topic set tests one model; an untimed diagnostic exposes reasoning without the pressure of speed. Record the date, paper or question source, conditions, time used, and any formula or calculator support so later comparisons are meaningful.

After marking, do not copy a solution and move on. Tag each error as knowledge, model selection, representation, algebra, units, graph reading, command-word response, or time management.
